NSW National Premier League One

All change again at the top as the two Blacktown sides swapped places once more. Spartans are back in the lead but only on goal difference over City after a 6:1 romp over hapless St George. Aaron Peterson’s 94th minute goal kept Bonnyrigg in race for the title as they struggled to beat APIA Leichhardt Tigers 3:2 who played an hour with ten men. Bonnyrigg host Blacktown City in a crunch tie which may result in our first draw this weekend.

Meanwhile APIA will miss Blake Powell after his dismissal when they visit Sydney United. United lost out on a win as Marconi equalized with a 91st minute penalty. These two hover above the drop zone and look evenly matched which could be reflected in a drawn game.

Sydney Olympic's game with Manly United is a re-run of a midweek national cup tie which Olympic won 3:1. The northern side will be out for revenge while Olympic need the points to move into the top five. Manly, so long table proppers, were boosted by a 1:0 win over South Coast Wolves as Olympic were defeating Sutherland Sharks. The Gaitatzis brothers were on song on Tuesday and Olympic should take the win.

Another potential draw is the Rockdale City Suns match with Sutherland Sharks. They hold fourth and fifth places respectivley and a win for either team, especially Rockdale, could secure their playoff spot.  A defeat for Sutherland could put them out of playoff contention. Rockdale toppled the leaders Blacktown City 2:0 as the Sharks were dropping points.

Spartans should take a win at home to Marconi Stallions while South Coast Wolves are favourites for the points as St George visit Wollongong.

NSW National Premier League Two

The two bottom clubs clash when Fraser Park play host to Bankstown Berries. Both sides have played well this season but haven’t had the luck you need in this competitive league. The home side have five draws so far with number six possible on Saturday evening.

The Macarthur Rams have managed to hold on to third spot despite losing three games recently. Lowly Fraser Park held them to a one all draw while Hills Brumbies had their fourth away draw out of their last five games. At home Brumbies have a good record but the Rams should be too strong for them on Saturday. Central Coast Mariners Academy visit Spirit FC who moved up a place with a draw against Bankstown City.  Back in May this was goalless and in a league where we have many draws and low scores we may see a repeat of this result.

Queensland National Premier League

Of the four remaining games I feel three look to be pretty straightforward to decide a winner. Palm Beach, Moreton Bay and Harimau Muda A look good for the three points over their respective opposition.

Brisbane Strikers and FNQ Heat have almost identical overall record but the Strikers have lost just once at home this season and Heat do not seem to travel too well. Both need points to assist their semi finals chances and on balance Strikers should be the better team.

Victoria National Premier League

Ballarat Red Devils pulled themselves out of the relegation zone, albeit on goal difference, with a 3:1 win over Werribee City. They have two games in hand over Green Gully Cavaliers who laboured to a one all draw with Port Melbourne Sharks. This match and Melbourne Knights clash with Heidelberg United could proviude two draws from this league.

The other matches look like going to form with wins for Bentleigh Greens and Hume City at home. Away wins for Oakleigh Cannons and Dandenong Thunder.

Victoria National Premier League One

This league looks also to be going along with the form book. Two home wins therefore for leaders Avondale Heights and also Springvale White Eagles. North Geelong Warriors make the long trip to Bendigo but should return with the points. Richmond were held to a three all draw by Bendigo in an entertaing game as Sunshine George Cross dropped more points this time to St Albans Saints. Richmond to take the win in the rain at Sunshine.

South Australia National Premier League

The Blue Eagles had their wings clipped as Steven Ward's late goal gave Para Hills Knights all three points and moved them away from the drop zone. They can make sure of safety should they beat the side below them South Adelaide. South's need the points to ensure their own survival and a draw at The Paddocks looks likely.

At the top MetroStars marched on with a second half demolition of Campbelltown City. They host West Adelaide, who duly secured their playoff place with a 6:0 thrashing of bottom club Western Strikers. A MetroStars win would almost certainly give them the Premiership while West's could narrow the gap should they win. Another draw for us at TK Shutter Reserve.

White City have an outside chance of the playoffs but their hopes took a dent as Croydon beat them 4:2. They face Adelaide Comets for whom a draw would almost certainly secure the fifth finals place. Comets looked unsteady as they laboured a 2:1 win over South Adelaide who played the last 25 minutes with ten men. Comets to get the job done.

Croydon and Adelaide Blue Eagles should both take wins in their matches. Campbelltown need a win against Raiders to keep their playoff hopes alive. I expect them to do the business. Meanwhile Adelaide City can make Campbelltown's task more difficult should they beat West Torrens Birkalla which I expect them to do.

Tasmania (Victory) National Premier League

In a league of two halves Devonport City look strong to take a win over a Launceston City side bouyent after their second success of the campaign against Kingborough Lions.

The top four clash in the remaining two games. Here second placed Tilford Zebras are looking to take a hat-trick of wins over third placed Olympia Warriors. Both have identical records but the Warriors defence has leaked at times. A firecracker at Warrior Park with the Zebras just edging it.

Over at KGV Park leaders South Hobart take on their great rivals from Launceston - Northern Rangers. Last time Rangers came to Souths they won 3:1 but this was back in April and squads have changed since then. South's were held to a goalless draw by Tilford while Rangers beat Glenorchy Knights 3:1. For me South's have the edge.

Capital Football National Premier League

Canberra FC took a 4:1 defeat by FFA Centre of Excellence (AIS) and had two men sent off in the process. In the match of the round they square up to a Belconnen United side fresh from four wins in a row. Despite FC's troubles they will give Belconnen a game and a repeat of the two all draw earlier in the season looks likely.

Cooma Tigers  look good to stay top and maybe even extend their lead as they are favourites to beat Woden Valley.  Woden took a win over Canberra Olympic which leaves Olympic just in the play off places. FFA CoE lie just outside so this match will be a keen contest as well. Both sides have wobbled recently but the FFA CoE look to just have the upper hand.
